Dive IMPORTANT: for your own
security, please keep in mind your scuba diving
level and respect the depth indicated on your
card.
The Morrisson
Quarry is a relatively small lake, measuring 400
feet wide and 500 feet long. However there is
quite a variety of attractions to visit such as
shipwrecks, planes and cars.
Please note that these objects were put in by
man in an aritifical and unnatural manner.
The first wreck to
visit, at 26 feet deep, is a duel-engine plane
with a capacity of about 8 passengers. The
dimensions of this plane, from one wing-tip to
another, is 48 feet large and it is 30 feet long.
A few components of the plane such as the seats,
the windows, and the propeller among others, have
been removed from the plane before the sinking in
1980.

At about 50 feet
South (to the right) of the plane, you will find
a shipwreck measuring close to 25 feet long at a
depth of 46 feet.
Initially, this boat was sunk at a depth of 107
feet (in the fall of 1980) but to facilitate
access to scubadivers, it was risen to where it
presently rests.
For those who
love watching movies where a car jumps into the
water, here's where you can see the result of
vehicles at different depths. At the Est end, at
109 feet, you can see a white Swift Suzuki. The
other car, a black Toyota MR2, that were sunk
during the filming of a movie were at 111 feet
depth. As of December 19th, 2001, there are only
two cars at the bottom of the Morrison Quarry.
Please note
that the front-end of the car, which rests at 40
feet on the North-East end, has been removed from
the water.

Just before you
leave from your tour, you could take a look of a
imitation of submarine about 12 foots long at 60
foots deep.
At ( A ) and (
B ) mark, you will found an old fencepost. Among
other attractions at Morrisson Quarry, you can
visit the mini-mountains that make up the
drop-offs of this site. Some of them are quite
long depending on where you are located. There
are some for every level of scubadiving, up to
100 feet.
Please be
careful and pay special attention to the effects
of the narcose.
Have a good
dive!
